Medical Provider Network (MPN)

In the event you sustain a work-related injury or illness, PG&E provides access to medical treatment through the Pacific Gas and Electric Company MPN. PG&E’s MPN accesses medical treatment through selected Anthem Blue Cross Prudent Buyer PPO (“Blue Cross of California”) providers and the Kaiser on-the-Job provider network. Anthem Blue Cross contracts with doctors, hospitals and other providers to respond to the special requirements of the on-the-job injuries or illnesses.

If you are seriously injured on the job and need immediate emergency care, call 911 and go to the nearest healthcare provider. Your supervisor or safety professional can call the 24/7 Nurse Care Line on your behalf if you are not able to. Once your condition is stable, contact your workers’ compensation representative or the Medical Access Assistance in locating an MPN provider for continued care.

For non-emergency situations, you may receive medical advice and/or treatment recommendations from the 24/7 Nurse Care Line, 1-888-449-7787. If needed, the 24/7 Nurse Care Line will refer you for a clinic visit within the MPN.

If you are temporarily working outside the MPN service area, you may be treated by the doctor of your choice.

At any point in time after the initial medical evaluation with an MPN physician, you may select a physician of your choice from within the MPN. Click here to access the online MPN Provider Finder.

For help finding a treating physician and scheduling an appointment, you may also contact PG&E’s Medical Access Assistant (MAA):

The Medical Access Assistant (MAA) is available Monday through Saturday (except holidays) from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time.
